Vitra is designed with soft, luxurious curves that flatters your home and invites you to sink into the relaxing and comfortable benches. Michael and his team of carpenters stressed even the tiniest details, such that
the Vitra saunas would have a beautiful style that is uncommon, even with saunas
costing thousands of dollars more.
The first comfortable sauna, engineered ergonomically. Vertical grain (VG) vs Flat Grain (FG) Vitra FG models and
almost every competing product uses flat grain wood that looks quite beautiful,
but lacks the natural strength to hold its shape for many years.
If you insist on the
highest quality that can last a lifetime, choose only vertical grain.
For Vitra Original and Vitra VG models,
Michael Ducharme personally selected each of the raw materials, ensuring only the strongest
vertical grain hemlock.
If you
want to save money we offer the beautiful FG and MPG series.
All wood, whether FG or VG, is kiln dried to 12% moisture content.
My statement is this: if you're going to buy an infrared sauna, this is the best damn product on the market. The manufacturer of this product wanted to make the best Far infrared sauna there is. So they asked our co-founder Michael Ducharme to provide the creative design and the fanatical quality control that he is known for in this industry. Michael personally rejected over 85% of the available raw materials, so that the finished product would meet our high standards. Of course, Michael learned from the best carpentry expert, yours truly!
Each emitter is produced according to the worldwide standard for producing ceramic far infrared emitters. An electricity-resistant filament is coiled around a high-temperature glass rod, and held in position by a conductive layer of magnesium oxide powder. A rod-shaped ceramic tube covers the aforementioned like a sheath. It is this ceramic that the device will heat up (to approximately 300 degrees celcius) to produce a concentration and intensity of far infrared rays that is sufficient for absorbsion into the human body. The length of the ceramic is 550 mm and the diameter is 18 mm. Since infrared rays will be produced
along the entire circumference of the rod-shaped emitter, it is necessary to mount the ceramic emitter
in a reflective casing that will bounce at least 87% of the rays from the rear of the emitter back
into the room so that as many rays as possible can be absorbed by the bather. The width of this
reflective housing is 116 mm.
Vitra saunas are normally in stock and easy to ship immediately in three convenient packages, shown above. The boxes are each packaged securely with styrofoam so they will arrive beautifully under any circumstances. The Vitra sauna ships from Rochester Hills, Michigan. The total weight is 228 Kg / 502 lbs, much heavier than cheaply-made mass-produced units because the Vitra is built from strong materials. Shipping cost is quite reasonable - usually well under $300; much less than the tax you would pay if buying from a retail store.
