Eastern White Cedar
Golden Glow Saunas
Beautiful Eastern White Cedar from Canada. You can order just the wood,
a traditional kit, an infrared kit or a dual heat system. We can help
with the plans and we can fit any space.
AmericanSauna Kit
America's favorite wood for saunas is Western Red Cedar,
and the American Sauna brand uses the highest quality available of this species.
Mobility: None. Permanent fixture. (Some customers have built their own portable sauna, and
we've even seen some installations in trailers, vans and cars!)
Location: Any indoor room (or closet) where the sauna is on a waterproof surface (concrete, tile,
linoleum,
etc.). This sauna can go outside if you construct the frame, cover the exterior, provide a roof, and build it on a concrete slab.
More Information
A sauna kit can go almost anywhere. Consider placing one beside your pool, in a shed or garage, your master bathroom, or basement rec room. You can build a sauna in any size or shape that you like... the freedom is yours to innovate.
Before you install the sauna, you need to make sure that you have built a frame and insulated the area. For this you will need:
Stud walls and ceiling joists (typically 2 X 4 spruce studs, available at Home Depot or Lowe's)
Insulation (R 12 for walls and ceiling)
Wiring, often supplied by your electrician
Smaller units require 14/3 90°C-rated with 15 Amp split breaker
Larger units require appropriate wire gauge with 30 or 40 amp breakers
