More Information
A sauna kit can go almost anywhere. Consider placing one beside your pool, in a shed or garage, your master bathroom, or basement rec room. You can build a sauna in any size or shape that you like... the freedom is yours to innovate.
Before you install the sauna, you need to make sure that you have built a frame and insulated the area. For this you will need:
- Stud walls and ceiling joists (typically 2 X 4 spruce studs, available at Home Depot or Lowe's)
- Insulation (R 12 for walls and ceiling, available at Home Depot or Lowe's)
- Wiring supplied by your electrician

Expert Product Reviews
Jason Biffis, sauna enthusiast:
North America's favorite wood for saunas is Western Red Cedar, for its pleasant smell
and overall suitability for sauna.
Red cedar will give you a clear finish, with no knots, and a very close tight
grain, while each board can vary in tint from a light brownish color to a dark red.
Its specific density allows it to maintain the same reactions under
sauna conditions. WRC will have very little movement or expansion, it is not very
susceptible to warping, and it has very high resistance to decay and fungus, which you definitely don't want in a sauna.
It seems the Big Guy made this one specifically for saunas.
